Apple’s Interactive Technology organization is part of Apple’s Worldwide Marketing Communications Department (Marcom). Marcom designs and delivers the iconic brand images and experiences to various sites, apps, and retail stores. We work on many high-impact projects that serve various Apple lines of business. We use the latest in open source technologies and continue to evolve and deliver solutions on a worldwide scale. Working with a variety of multi-functional teams, we bring it all together to deliver the interactive experiences with an excellent group of software engineers while having fun along the way. Apple is seeking an experienced Development Manager to lead the front-end development of ( This manager will be responsible for the technical leadership and implementation of innovative customer-facing client-side web solutions utilizing HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript on both desktop and mobile browsers. We’re looking for someone who can work cross-functionally with partners such as producers, designers, and content managers to keep projects moving efficiently while keeping a team of web developers happy.

Key Qualifications

  • Minimum 12+ years of relevant experience necessary, including experience managing and growing teams.
  • Strong skills moving technology teams away from tactical operation issues and towards strategic feature development
  • Dedicated problem solver with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment where multiple releases are a fact of life
  • Experience working in close partnership with creative teams, including design and UX
  • In-depth knowledge and experience designing and developing client-side interactive features using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, as well as build tools like Git, Gulp, SASS, and SVN.
  • Comfortable evangelizing web technologies across the organization
  • Willingness to push the bounds of client-side web development with the goal of creating a unique experience for users


Day-to-day leadership for an engineering team with a focus on employee development. The manager will play a key role in connecting the front-end engineering team with production, creative, and other product engineering groups at Apple in order to build innovative web experiences on ( for Apple products and services.
