Developer Publications is looking for a world-class project manager capable of managing multiple initiatives of varying scale, complexity, and focus. You will be a resourceful self-starter who enjoys working cross-functionally and is passionate about creating the best learning experience for Apple developers. Developer Publications works with Software Engineering teams developing new technologies to create content and platforms that teach developers how to build great software for Apple’s platforms. You will collaborate with an amazing staff of engineers, content writers, designers, and editors. As an experienced Engineering Project Manager, you’ll help drive the delivery of world-class teaching materials, such as Tutorials, API Reference, Sample Code, and Swift Playgrounds, to millions of developers around the world. You’ll bring the ability to manage projects of all sizes, levels of complexity, and secrecy, and play a critical role in their success. You’re a great communicator, who is extremely detail-oriented, proactive, focused, highly motivated, and thinks outside the box. You help teams identify and resolve problems in a constructive and scalable way. You do your best work leading dynamic and innovative projects in a fast-paced environment.

Key Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in program or product management for software development, or equivalent technical management role
  • Attention to detail
  • Naturally accountable and responsible
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with demonstrated creative and critical-thinking capabilities
  • Software release experience—managing complex, cross-functional projects
  • Able to devise and organize project plans, schedules, and tracking
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) to all levels of an organization
  • Strong facilitation skills for requirements sessions, design meetings, and progress and status meetings
  • Familiar with waterfall and agile development methodologies
  • Understand and deal well with rapid development cycles and remain flexible and calm in the face of ambiguity
  • Great leadership skills and ability to inspire team members
  • Experience with Object-oriented programming or scripting languages is preferred
  • Experience with Source Management Systems (Git) is preferred


As a project manager, you’ll be responsible to: Build project plans and schedules, track them, and communicate progress Track and prioritize tasks across multiple product releases and efforts simultaneously Identify and resolve conflicts, inter-dependencies, and project issues quickly and effectively Drive program meetings and events Communicate effectively at all levels—from informal drop-ins to formal announcements; frequently be the face of Developer Publications inside Apple Build and maintain strong relationships in support of cross-functional work with multiple organizations across Apple Use tracking tools such as OmniPlan, OmniGraffle, Numbers, Confluence, and web databases; possibly create web tools for managing and tracking purposes

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Additional Requirements

  • Experience using project-management tools such as OmniPlan, Wrike, or Microsoft Project
  • Extensive understanding of Apple technologies, including macOS, iOS, watchOS, and tvOS
  • Highly skilled at cross-functional management without authority
