If so, we're looking for individuals like you. Work and contribute towards the engineering of Real-time Communication technologies in the Interactive Media Group (IMG) at Apple. The Real-time Communication team provides the networking and media frameworks for Group FaceTime, FaceTime, Phone Continuity, and WiFi Calling. IMG provides the media and graphics foundation across all of Apple's innovative products, including Mac, iPod, Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. Developing ground breaking software techniques, IMG takes the media experience to the next level. We are looking for a hardworking software quality engineer with a strong technical background and understanding of networking, video, and audio technologies. Responsible for developing and conducting Performance tests for FaceTime, Group FaceTime, AirPlay, Phone Continuity and WiFi Calling on iOS, OS X, and Apple Watch platforms. You will develop and maintain test plans, and carry out the testing across a variety of network topologies and in various different environments to ensure the highest video and audio performance in FaceTime, Phone Continuity, and WiFi Calling before it is reaches our customers’ hands. Your focus will span a broad array of Real-time Communications test areas involving functional, performance, and automation development.

Key Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Python
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work accordingly
  • Familiarity with iOS, Mac OS X, Unix, and Xcode


You will work very closely with the Real-time communications development and multi-functional teams to ensure quality is of the highest level. Creating & supervising high quality bug reports, triaging issues by closely working with developers, and reporting on project progress & risk analysis. Testing will be comprised of identifying and developing performance tools, performance testing and automation of the performance tests. Automation will be key to this role’s success. In addition to writing and maintaining a set of tests, you will also be responsible for driving fixes of many other critical performance tests run by multi-functional technology teams.

Education & Experience

B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Additional Requirements

  • Experience testing Video and/or VoIP applications is a plus
  • Experience testing Video/Audio codecs is a plus
