Then come join the AMP Video Operations team for a unique and exciting opportunity to support both the customer and Apple by focusing and maintaining video quality standards daily. The Video Quality & Compliance team is responsible for reviewing all video content that surfaces to customers via the Apple services ecosystem. Our content includes Movies, TV, Extras, Apple Music Videos, Channels and Original Content which is distributed to over 100 countries globally. Our primary focus is to make certain all of our available video content adheres to our high-quality standards and is delivered accurately from our partners. The chosen candidate will get to collaborate regularly with Operations, Business, Engineering, Production and Project Management organizations all while contributing ideas to improve systems, automate processes or increase efficiency. The Video Operations organization’s core focus is providing the best viewing experience for customers across all video content; Film, TV, Original Content & Music Videos. Our responsibilities range from working with video distribution partners to ingest compliant assets and metadata, working with developers of streaming video applications to integrate with our platform’s various video services, and quality control of deliveries to ensure they present themselves correctly across our ecosystem and by our service level agreements. Our platforms include VOD, EST, OTT and Subscription across the iTunes and App Store with supported formats ranging from 4K/HDR to SD/ SDR. In an effort to build the best experience, there is a tremendous focus on localization and accessibility to provide, what we consider, a ‘global experience’ across all our devices.

Key Qualifications

  • Have a passion for digital video
  • Possess a detailed working knowledge of common technical issues found in digital video and audio, as well as an understanding of meta-data, video encoding, video codecs, and their common failures or technical challenges
  • Data driven and able to detect process inefficiencies
  • Have a strong understanding of advanced media offerings such as 4K, HDR, DolbyVision & DolbyATMOS
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written. Needs to have excellent analytical and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams
  • Willingness to work in a high volume, fast-paced, and changing environment
  • 3-5 years experience working with digital video
  • Thorough understanding of industry tools used for QC, QoE, QoS and workflow management
  • Track record of responding quickly and decisively to issues
  • Multilingual a plus but not required
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Proficiency in using Apple computers, devices, software and applications
  • Scripting language experience a plus! (SQL, HTML, Perl, Python, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Apple product offerings, MacOS, iOS, tvOS, Keynote, etc.
  • Keen ability to focus, prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Strong knowledge of the current state of the OTT video industry, media content, and video apps with a focus on video quality & metadata
  • Shown experience in leading successful small to medium projects

Description

▪ Daily management of video content quality control & compliance (QC) ▪ Perform spot-checks of video assets, audio files, subtitles, audio descriptions, captions and metadata to assess quality and report errors ▪ Execute full reviews on video assets considered important to AMP business ▪ Troubleshoot video/audio asset issues, customer complaints and platform playback anomalies ▪ Work cross-functionally and build relationships with other AMP teams including Metadata, Engineering and Program Management ▪ Contribute innovative ideas regarding process, video workflow and automation to maximize efficiency and scalability ▪ Understand, promote and communicate Apple’s philosophy and values ▪ Make reasonable, autonomous decisions and know when to raise issues ▪ Keep inline with industry trends, technologies and third party tools to drive process improvements and system enhancements ▪ Consistent record in responding decisively and clearly to both internal and partner inquiries

Education & Experience

BA/BS or equivalent industry experience with a focus in video quality, ingestion or delivery
