We are seeking a test engineering manager responsible for ensuring installation quality for Apple’s macOS-based operating system releases, including incremental system updates and major OS releases.

Key Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability leading technical and/or test teams in the software industry
  • Proven experience in developing comprehensive QA plans and executing them to completion
  • Proven track record in leading development of automation tools
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and have a high degree of organizational skills
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
  • Experience in development and/or testing of a shipping product
  • Regression isolation and debugging experience
  • Scripting experience (JavaScript, Bash, Perl, Ruby, Python, etc)
  • Fundamental understanding of operating systems


The macOS Release Validation team is responsible for testing installation correctness of all macOS-based software releases including OS updates, security updates, and major new OS versions across supported Mac devices. Key testing points include daily builds of new OS versions, weekly updates provided to Apple’s Seeding program, and final sign-off on GM software. As the manager your responsibilities include leading a team of both QA and automation engineers, driving daily/weekly sign-offs, driving an automation roadmap to continually increase our QA coverage and reduce test time, and partnering with engineering teams responsible for building and installing macOS releases. This is a fast-paced, cross-functional team in the center of the macOS development process.

Education & Experience

B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
