Apple is looking for a researcher to conduct primary and secondary research on voice assistants. The ideal candidate will be able to synthesize available information + design and execute new research projects to provide guidance to Siri engineering and product leadership. The ideal candidate would be proficient in research in voice assistants.

Key Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience conducting primary and secondary research
  • Demonstrated proficiency in experimental design and data gathering from human populations
  • Previous experience with developing customer cohorts and calculating the statistical validity of analyses done for each cohort
  • Competency in the design and execution of in-person and remote research projects with users
  • Experience with creating and managing operational processes with vendors across the world
  • Demonstrated success at developing and leading executive presentations for recommendations
  • Previous experience leading teams


- Conduct primary and secondary research, including interviews and consultations with internal partners - Lead the team in designing new and improving existing user studies. Specific tasks include: defining protocol and testing methods in conjunction with internal partners, defining the metric of interest and process of measurement, defining the analysis methodology, and determination of the demographics needed with the associated statistical power required - Collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative information to assess the user experience and capabilities for different voice experiences, up to and including conducting in-person and remote research projects with users. Specific tasks include: administer screening and consent forms, interview and debrief participants, observe behavior, and perform user research and evaluation - Develop strategic and meaningful insights + present to engineering and product teams to improve voice assistant experiences. Specific tasks include: synthesis of qualitative and quantitative information across studies and other primary and secondary research, development and presentation of findings + actions for engineering and product leadership

Education & Experience

M.S. or Ph.D. in Social Sciences, Economics, Finance, or equivalent
