Key Qualifications

  • Excellent track record (5+ years) of building complex web applications
  • Proven background with web app frontend development using JavaScript, and React
  • Proven background in designing, implementing, and scaling Web services in Java and Spring
  • Extensive experience with designing REST APIs
  • Experience with NoSQL data stores such as Cassandra
  • Experience with other JavaScript Frameworks will be a plus. e.g., Ember / Angular
  • Willing to take responsibility and ownership of features/product
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented and proud of the work you deliver
  • Committed to encouraging an open and inclusive work environment
  • Possesses strong communication skills, able to communicate complex technical ideas to engineers and non-engineers inside and across the teams

Description

Apple's News team is seeking a high-energy Full Stack Software Engineer to join our team working on the web apps that is used by all the Apple News Publishers to manage their content on Apple News Platform and view analytics insights. Our tech stack includes JavaScript, JavaScript-based frameworks(React), Java, Spring, and NoSQL data stores – Cassandra and Solr. Capacity to work in a highly collaborative environment is required. The ideal candidate has experience with JavaScript frameworks and Java, has a keen eye for usability, and thrives on improving the design and architecture of large web apps and systems.

Education & Experience

A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science is required or equivalent experience.
