The Camera Hardware Engineering group is responsible for the design, development, and innovation of camera hardware for all related Apple products. Our target is to deliver superior camera hardware to enable best-in-class camera user experience. Key Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years relevant industry experience. High-volume consumer electronics system experience preferred
  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB design using Cadence Concept and Allegro or similar CAD tools
  • Design and simulation experience with Hi-speed serdes (MIPI, Displayport, HDMI, PCIE, etc)
  • Broad experience with both analog and digital circuits, e.g. small signal conditioning, low noise power supply, high-speed and serial control interfaces
  • Strong knowledge of layout strategies for Rigid PCB, Flex, and Rigid-Flex including material selection, Stack-up planning, EMI minimization, signal integrity, noise suppression and design for manufacturing, testing and reliability (DFM, DFT, DFR)
  • Comfort and ability to use all types of electronic test equipments such as Oscilloscope, VNA, spectrum analyzer, electrical loads and signal generators
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Command line interface and scripting skills
  • Statistical data analysis and visualization (ex. JMP) is a plus

Description

Determine component requirements, and develop schematic designs for innovative camera modules components containing image sensors, microcontrollers, low-noise power supplies, AF/OIS drivers, and high-speed serial interfaces Analyze circuit parasitics and tolerances to ensure correct operation over the specified voltage and temperature ranges Direct layout and/or supervision of layout for PCB, Flex, and substrates Debug EE issues, including power quality, high-speed signal integrity and I2C interface performance Author clear and comprehensive electrical test documentation for manufacturing partners to complete test and validation Collaborate with multi-functional teams to simulate, test, and validate performance of all designs Develop electronic prototypes for new camera features and product concepts

Education & Experience

BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or industrial experience equivalent.

Additional Requirements

  • Knowledge of CMOS image sensor, ISP or image processing is desirable;
  • Familiarity with camera and optics technology
  • Occasional travel will be required
