Key Qualifications

  • Engineering fundamentals: solid mechanics, material science, heat transfer, mechanism design, manufacturing, fixture design, simple static finite element analysis
  • Excellent communication skills: both written and verbal, ability to clearly communicate design ideas and contribute to brainstorms
  • Silicon integration experience not required, but strongly preferred: consumer electronics integrated circuits, packaging design, and production processes
  • Skills you will learn on the job:
  • tolerance analysis, design for assembly/manufacturability, PCB and PCBA, designing for high volume manufacturing of die cast, sheetmetal, and machined parts, metrology, statistical process control, geometric dimensioning & tolerancing


- System and PCB-level integration of Mac SOC - Collaborate with electrical engineers, board layout, PCB DFM, Silicon packaging engineering, product reliability & integrity, and thermals to refine & execute on the design of the product - Develop initial SOC package integration solutions in conjunction with layout engineers. Generate concepts, create CAD models, prototype, and test to drive down-selection - Analyze designs and collaborate with FEA engineers to mitigate SOC stresses under thermal and mechanical loads - Partner with external vendors & internal operations teams to optimize designs for function and manufacturability - Ensure design meets reliability requirements throughout its lifecycle and perform failure analyses - Design, fabricate, and provide functional requirements for assembly and test fixtures - Travel up to 10% in Asia to support proof of concept builds
