We are actively seeking a Data Center Critical Facilities Electrical Domain Specialist who will excel among a team of thinkers and doers, committed to leading a mission critical environment that values continuous improvement and adopts change! Our Infrastructure Services Data Center Operations (DCO) team, you will support all design elements for some of the most innovative and energy efficient data centers in the world. This position will support our operations teams by being the liaison between design, construction, and commissioning teams. We are looking for a highly-motivated self-starter who is technically savvy, and understands the criticality of operating data centers.

Key Qualifications

  • Proven understanding of hyper scale electrical and mechanical systems and NFPA70E, IEEE and OSHA Regulations that pertain to data centers.
  • Meets the “Responsible Person” qualification in accordance with NFPA70e.
  • 5 + years of relevant work experience, including industry experience in DCO, Engineering, Commissioning or other related complex projects.
  • Collaborate with teams outside of Facilities and provide keen insights into systems design and operations related to area of expertise.
  • Experience driving the creation of policies and procedures to increase work efficiencies, safety, and operations.
  • Develop and manage processes and programs to ensure the health of power distribution systems within the data center.
  • Large data center power system design with multiple power technologies and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
  • Familiarity with data center equipment such as High Voltage Switchgear, Medium Voltage Switchgear, Medium Voltage Generators, Paralleling Switchgear, Automatic Transfer Switches, VFD’s, PLC’s, Lighting Inverters, Direct Current (DC) Rectifiers, Chillers, Direct and Indirect Air Handling Units, EPMS and BMS controls.
  • Understanding of design and commissioning of large high voltage substations, power conversion systems, complex power distribution systems, redundant protection, automation and control systems.

  • Skilled in reading construction drawings for all fields (electrical, mechanical, plumbing)
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to understand complex technical operations environments, communicate issues and provide solutions to all levels of the organization
  • Power to prioritize multiple assignments of opposing priorities and work them through to an effective resolution
  • Experience within complex organizational settings (e.g., Facilities Operations Center (FOC), Project Management Office (PMO), geographic dispersion, etc.)

Possess excellent communication and presentation skills to work closely and constructively with all areas of the business. Ability to project manage equipment upgrades and modifications production environments. Excellent planning, analytical, organization and problem solving skills. Gracefully adjust to meet changing circumstances such as reorganizations, reassignment of project priority, changes in strategic direction, and customer needs. Drive multiple internal and external design, vendors to perform with high quality and deliver to result driven design schedules. Deal with ambiguity in problem definition, and have strong engineering and business values.

Education & Experience

Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
