- Multi-disciplinary module integration and management; responsible for all customer facing display features.
- Overall display performance and definition, including: Front-of-screen behavior, cosmetics, power, reliability, assembly and process, system integration (both hardware and software), failure analysis, validation, characterization.
- Excellent project management, communications and multi-functional leadership skills required.
- Willingness and ability to travel.
We are looking for a module integration engineer to help architect, develop and ship flat panel displays for the Apple Watch. You will be advancing display modules at the fundamental device physics/material level all the way up to system level integration and software definition. You will serve as the focal point for all display matters, collaborating with the system team, software team, display and touch domain authorities, operations and quality teams, and our supply chain partners. You will do whatever is necessary to nurture our new displays with a quality and feature set that we will be proud to put our name behind. Core responsibilities: - Own the display module master specification, from pre-concept phase through mass production ramp - Lead the multi-functional team, setting goals and priorities every step of the way to ensure a smooth and successful product launch - Communicate across the company and gain necessary support from key Apple leaders - Scout and evaluate the best materials, processes, architecture and technology from current and potential suppliers - Lead supply chain partnerships, pushing technology forward while strengthening vendor relationships - Hands-on test & characterization to identify issues, quantify performance and resolve problems - In-region build support at component, module and system factories during critical new product introduction phases
Education & Experience
PhD or MS in Physics/EE/Materials Science, preferably with experience in a multi-disciplinary environment. All experience levels will be considered.
