Key Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience with 5+ years of experience as a senior manager or director
  • Prior team management experience is essential, experience managing managers is preferable
  • Experience in design and manufacturing, preferably in the electronics fabrication and assembly industry
  • Deep technical knowledge complimented by a good sense of how engineering decisions impact business concerns
  • Experience working with an international team is preferred
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and a willingness to take ownership of problems
  • Excellent communication skills, from extemporaneous discussion to synthesis of detailed technical reports and distillation to executive level presentation


Apple is looking for a highly motivated and proactive senior leader who can think strategically while simultaneously managing a group of talented engineers. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and feel comfortable developing and building out a team. As the Senior Manager, you will be responsible for new product development, sustaining products, and failure analysis. You will lead and mentor design, process, quality engineers and managers and will interact with Engineering in USA and Apple Pacific Operations. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Product Design, EE, Strategic Suppliers, and Apple Contract Manufacturers in order to ensure the manufacturability of Apple products and maintain Apple's high standard quality. Primary responsibilities will include: •Project assignment, day to day workload management and development of several design engineers and first-level managers in Cupertino •Act as the primary escalation point to resolve blocking issues related to design release, design spec compliance or production process problems •Resolve resource allocation and responsibility alignment with managers of other multi-functional teams •Ensure that entry and exit criteria are tracked and met for each development landmark •Engage vendor senior management to set expectations and to communicate feedback •Highlight all project risks to executive management and identify, evaluate and recommend the best path to resolution

Education & Experience

•Bachelors or higher in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or Materials Science •An MBA or other executive/management education is a plus
