As the Logistics Freight Audit Manager, you will be part of the Worldwide Logistics Procurement Team and you will be managing of a global team responsible for the end-2-end management of Apple’s freight invoice auditing and payment. You will be based in Cupertino, California and lead a team of Freight Audit analysts located around the globe, that are responsible for the validating and reconciling of invoices, compiling freight audit reports, processing claim checks, and building new processes to optimize our work and support our worldwide operations organization. You will play a key role in maintaining business relationships with our Freight Audit providers and ensure both Corporate Procurement Strategies and those supporting the Regional Logistics efforts are aligned. In this role you will work cross functionally with carriers, service providers, Apple tax, finance and logistics teams.
- 5+ years’ Experience in the logistics sector.
- Prior experience managing a team of professionals in a multifaceted global environment.
- Problem solving mentality in which you can work collaboratively with different functions to develop creative solutions and drive those solutions through implementation
- Must be highly analytical, creative, and an effective communicator.
- Finance experience is an advantage.
Typical responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Developing a strategy for making sure logistics invoices are paid accurately and on time. Leading the Freight Audit staff managing suppliers through regular status reviews with the business and suppliers ensuring that services are being performed according to the SOW. Collaborating with business customers across Apple and the freight forwarders ensuring freight invoices are transferred in a correct format and audited and paid correctly. Implementing efficient finance processes to streamline the billing and tracking of the service costs to Apple’s customers and provide efficient billing processes for Apple’s suppliers. Tracking, monitoring and reporting invoice exceptions to ensure 100% compliance with targets. Reviewing business documents released to suppliers: RFPs, SOW, and formal communications. Ensuring active measurement of the supplier’s performance to the SOW is occurring and identification of root cause and corrective measures are established as the need arises. Maintaining effective and proactive relationships with regional business teams to ensure support of existing and new operational requirements.
Education & Experience
BA/BS Degree plus 5 years proven experience in the logistics, MBA Desirable
