Apple is seeking a highly motivated, upbeat Wireless System Architect to lead and drive wireless system designs, define product requirements for Apple’s future ground breaking products, identify suitable technologies and drive implementation and validation. The ideal candidate coordinates and analyzes key system architectural requirements and implementation trade-offs analyzing system interconnects, OTA performance, antenna efficiency, spectral efficiency, while taking into account power consumption budgets, thermal constraints, SAR limitations, de-sense impacts.

Key Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in design and development of wireless communication systems
  • Experience in wireless communication protocols like 5G-NR, LTE, IEEE 802.11ax/ac/ad, BT, IP, TCP/UDP and their application to E2E product design
  • Track record of innovation and bringing new insights to wireless performance with an emphasis on power consumption reduction mechanisms
  • Experience in working with RFFE designs including filter design, LNAs, PAs, switches and power supply configurations
  • Experience in defining technical specifications for wireless products in IEEE/3GPP and/or other forums where specifications are discussed and defined
  • Analyze wireless communication system/Software requirements based on wireless standards and new product requirements
  • Knowledge of Matlab, Python and/or C/C++ for algorithm development, modeling, and system level simulations


This role requires sound fundamentals in wireless communications system design, excellent communication and persuasion in addition to being comfortable with working through ambiguities. In this role you will be working with many teams to define requirements and drive towards the design of an optimized E2E wireless system design. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: - Define wireless system requirements that meets relevant KPIs for key product use-cases - Map system requirements to wireless HW architecture covering all aspects of the wireless system including communication protocols, coexistence, RFFE design, antenna, de-sense to optimize for cost, power and performance - Drive functional and performance validation of wireless HW and SW architectures - Develop strategic relationships with cross-functional engineering teams to design innovative enhancements to wireless protocols - Define test suites and test cases, bring up wireless lab test stations, simulate and verify performance and power KPIs - Contribute towards technical specifications in relevant standards bodies

Education & Experience

MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Wireless Communications
