Our Real Estate and Development FP&A team is a lively, interactive team that has a direct impact on the business. There are constant opportunities for growth and development, along with the responsibility to provide finance solutions that are innovative and support both our internal and external customers. RE&D FP&A works closely with teams around the world including Real Estate and Development, Global Energy and Sustainability, Internet Software & Services, IS&T, Corporate FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Global Business Solutions.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience in renewable energy equity investments. US tax equity a plus
  • Significant experience building and reviewing financial models, and performing due diligence, valuation, and reporting
  • Knowledge of financial accounting and tax equity principles
  • Understanding of global renewable energy markets and policies
  • Strong project management and time management skills to execute on multiple priorities in a fast-paced global setting
  • Ability to collaborate seamlessly with partner teams and navigate through a large organization
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct complex, data driven analysis. Strong knowledge of Excel required, experience with enterprise software systems such as SAP and Adaptive Insights, and data analysis tools such as Tableau and Essbase a plus
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in a high performance organization
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate results of analysis in easy to understand business terms
  • Forecast facilities costs for data centers and energy, provide in-depth analysis of key cost drivers along with commentary on forecast flux, actuals, and annual plan
  • Partner with the Global Energy & Sustainability team, prepare and analyze financial models, support due diligence. Serve as the RE&D FP&A team’s key subject matter authority and act as the team’s primary interface with other core finance teams at Apple
  • Monitor renewable investments’ financial performance and support financial reporting functions as needed. Forecast Data Center facilities costs, build and maintain a suite of reporting to provide executive leadership with new insights as cost trends and activity change
  • Partner with Global Energy & Sustainability to understand the pipeline of projects and impact to the P&L and forecast
  • Monitor ongoing renewable energy performance and present results to internal partners on a quarterly basis
  • Collaborate with Global Energy & Sustainability to prepare and submit quarterly FERC filings
  • Consult with Technical Accounting on accounting treatment for potential deals
  • Prepare quarterly journal entries for renewable energy and data centers
  • Perform allocations analysis to distribute costs among internal Apple teams
  • Support annual planning process through rigorous analysis and presentations articulating Apple’s ongoing renewable energy strategy


The Senior Renewable Energy and Data Center Analyst will support the Global Energy & Sustainability team’s ongoing renewable energy investments. Apple is a global leader in corporate renewable energy and has achieved its 100% renewable electricity goal for serving its corporate, retail, and data center facilities. Apple has made a commitment to be completely carbon neutral across our entire product lifecycle by 2030, and we have much more work to do! Whether for tax equity investments in the US or partnerships and proprietary funds in Europe or Asia, you will have experience in renewable energy finance and deal analysis. You will ensure deals meet our long-term performance expectations and engage in deep collaboration with a broad range of Apple departments, including Global Energy and Sustainability, Technical Accounting, Tax, Corporate Procurement, Legal, Government Affairs, and the Environment, Policy, and Social Initiatives team. We are looking for a highly motivated and proactive professional who can think strategically and stay connected to our internal customers. The ideal candidate will possess a high level of integrity, creativity, initiative, accountability, communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to collaboration and excellence.

Education & Experience

BA/BS degree in finance, economics, or other relevant field with 10+ years of professional experience focused on renewable energy finance, development, and management. CPA preferred.
