The Health Sensing team develops ground breaking health sensors that are central to helping our customers live a healthier lifestyle. We are looking for sensor engineers with a desire to innovate in the space of optical sensors and health sensing features. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to tackle challenges involving sensors and algorithms. You will play a key role in developing and quantifying the performance of hardware solutions to enable optical sensing features.

Key Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience and proven track record in sensing system hardware engineering.
  • Strong background at least two of these areas: optics, physics, digital signal processing, or sensor algorithm.
  • High proficiency in prototyping and scripting (e.g., using Python).
  • Experience in modeling cross-disciplinary sensing systems.
  • Experience with sensor interfacing, signal conditioning and signal-to-noise analysis.
  • Exceptional problem solving skills and familiar with statistical analysis.
  • Experience with user testing and proximity sensors is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Description

The team you will join is responsible for designing and delivering health features for Apple's wearable devices. We are highly collaborative and partner with a variety of teams across Apple. The responsibilities of this position include the following: - Contribute to the development of sensor architectures, with emphasis on HW and support for algorithms - Engage in sensor technology scoping, prototyping, and development investigations. - Define, author, and publish key specifications and other documentation needed to support the health sensor development process. - Drive cross-functional discussions, including problem solving and requirement drafting across various functions and disciplines. - Collaborate closely with FW and algorithm teams for efficient and effective sensor solutions.

Education & Experience

- MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Optics, Physics, or similar field.
