Mac… iPod… iPhone… iPad… WATCH… what’s next?! Apple’s Technology Development Group (TDG) is looking for an experienced, highly technical EPM to drive cross-functional systems engineering of an advanced hardware system.
This role will include frequent multi-disciplinary collaboration with teams like Product Design, System Engineering, Materials, Core Technology, Computer Vision/Machine Learning, and more to define specification, and validation plans that map from top level features down to hardware, algorithm, and form-factor design specifications. We need someone to work cross-functionally to accurately demonstrate design trade-offs, distill them into key performance requirements, and drive product decisions. Does this sound like you? If so we'd love to hear from you!!!

Key Qualifications

  • 5+ years of combined experience in program management and mechanical/electrical engineering delivering products comprised of multiple materials, complex integration, and custom validation/metrology requirements
  • Experience leading full life-cycle product development in highly dynamic and ambiguous work environments, with a strong understanding of end-to-end system requirements
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and cross-functional engagement skills are critical
  • Wide knowledge of product development processes including detailed understanding of manufacturing, rapid-prototyping and assembly processes
  • Ability to anticipate functional direction and roadblocks, prioritize parallel closure paths, and effectively distill and communicate relevant HW/SW design trade-offs to the appropriate functional teams, including leadership
  • Self-motivated and dedicated with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities
  • Experience working with Product Design, Operations, Test and Hardware System Engineering

As a Systems Engineering PD EPM, you will partner with the product design and architecture teams to define product specifications, create validation plans, and drive cross functional reviews with peers and executive teams You will be responsible for: Leading the program through architecture definition and product concept, partnering with our Design, Operations and Test functions to ensure its success Identifying, deciding on, and communicating design trade-offs to closure by tracking progress, prioritizing cost-benefit analysis, managing custom prototypes and metrology, and validating those requirements Driving the manufacturing and assembly of early prototypes, managing budget and authorize payment, travel internationally to support engineering builds, and solving problems on manufacturing and assembly lines Creating and documenting the hardware system specifications based on top level features Mapping end-to-end hardware to test and validation requirements Creating and maintaining streamlined development schedules by redirecting pitfalls and developing an improved course of action Offering multiple levels of status updates across a wide spectrum of individual contributors to executive management
