As part of our Hardware Technologies group, you’ll help design and manufacture our next-generation, high-performance, power-efficient processor, system-on-chip (SoC). You’ll ensure Apple products and services can seamlessly and efficiently handle the tasks that make them beloved by millions. Together, you and your team will enable our customers to do all the things they love with their devices. We are looking for a passionate Network Support Engineer to undertake various tasks of network development such as optimizing performance, troubleshooting and improving internal network functions. This Network Engineer will support our hardware validation. Additionally, you will design lab network infrastructure for new labs and improve current infrastructure to quickly bring up the network during outages. You will also be tasked with building and supporting our emulation and FPGA system during peak cycles and will therefore need to be mechanically inclined. Ideally, you will be detail oriented, communicate effectively with team members, be organized and be able to follow instructions from project leads.

Key Qualifications

  • Validated experience as network support in relevant position.
  • Solid understanding of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP protocols and network technologies.
  • Solid understanding of Infoblox DHCP/DNS and wireless management.
  • Familiar with all Cisco switches (3Ks, 4Ks and 5Ks) and controller systems.
  • Knowledge of basic scripting, shell command, iOS, Linux, Window and Mac.
  • Must be hands-on with all lab related tasks.
  • Role has the possibility to require 24/7 support. Must be flexible.


This Network Support Engineer will design and install well-functioning lab network connections and cabling and solve system failures and identify bottlenecks. You will also test, configure and inspect all aspects of LAN infrastructure to ensure efficiency and evaluate network performance to find ways of improvement. Regular backup and scheduling vital upgrades will also help ensure reliability. You will be asked for help when needed in Emulation and FPGA related system support and/or when there is a need in other engineering labs.

Education & Experience

4+ years of proven experience in a lab environment. BS/BA in computer science, computing engineering or relevant field.
