The Retail IS&T Finance organization is chartered to provide flexibly sound financial governance and oversight across our Engineering teams to ensure Apple Retail executes the right sized projects (dollars and people resources) to keep Apple Retail on the cutting edge of customer service. This Sr. Finance Manager will be responsible to work across Engineering Solutions + Retail Engineering IS&T finance disciplines to discover, define and drive financial future methods operation. This individual will learn current methods of operation while staying future focused with a lens toward improved financial practices, increased efficiencies and driving scaleability across the organization.

Key Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in people and financial management, accounting, or finance controlling
  • Expertise in Procure-to-Pay processes
  • High proficiency in the rules of capitalization (labor, software development, equipment)
  • Ability to lead, take action and provide goal-oriented direction in the face of ambiguity
  • Proven ability to ‘read the room’ while influencing others to support finance and planning goals
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Motivated AND flexible to drive continuous self and team improvement (direct and matrix) keeping pace with organizational needs and trends
  • Team player, strong ability to listen and partner across at all organizational levels
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and exude confidence for a varied audience of Product, IS&T and Finance Leaders (Directors and Sr. Directors)
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and an ability to craft a narrative presentation using data and financials


In this role, you will influence the future of how Engineering Solutions + Retail Engineering positions itself on key financial behaviors including resource allocation, financial governance, reporting metrics and tools. Success in this role requires building trust and partnerships across Engineering, Product and Finance teams. The Sr. Finance Manager must possess executive presence and is responsible to inspire, mobilize and lead others to predictably deliver common deliverables, goals and timelines. Team focus areas (future focus): Operating Expenses budget and identification of key expense trends Monthly and quarterly financial forecasts, ongoing financial analysis, and the monthly and quarterly close processes while keeping an eye to streamlining processes and improving efficiency Annual financial plan ownership Drive Retail Engineering to meet financial targets while still achieving key business objectives Own timely read-outs of financial results and KPIs to senior Retail Engineering leadership

Education & Experience

B.S. in Finance, Economics or equivalent M.B.A is a plus
