In this role, you will be responsible for reliable operation of multiple medium-scale electronic verification labs close to engineering teams developing cutting edge SoC that will be integrated into a larger future group of key Apple mobile devices. The labs are semi-automated, execute cellular RF functional and performance tests in a 24/7 mode. We need you to develop and apply strategies to increase the robustness of our remote cloud-based testing capabilities used by verification engineers across the globe, to expand the number of test stations and to keep them fully operational. We are looking for an enthusiastic, high energy individual who can help us with tomorrow’s challenges.

Key Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of chip testing in a lab environment, have been working independently with multimeter, oscilloscope, spectrum analyser, or more advanced RF instruments.
  • Very solid understanding of microelectronics (digital and/or analog), either professional hands-on experience or electronic hobbyists with ambitious do-it-yourself activities.
  • Programming skills (e.g. Python) would be your advantage.
  • Joy in teamwork, handicraft activities, mutual support and encouragement, self-motivation, compliance.
  • You pay attention to the detail, you are seeking for a sustainable solutions rather than quick fixes.


You are responsible for the daily operation of our labs hosting electronic measurement equipment focussing on cellular RF testing with a minority of samples to be tested in a temperature chamber or EMI shielding box. The majority of samples can be handled at ambient temperature, allowing debug at the station. The more experience you have with vector signal analyzer or arbitrary waveform generators, typically from major brands like Rohde & Schwarz or National Instruments, the better. Your job is not just behind the monitor, we need you craftsmanship in the lab to the same extent. Soldering knowledge to fix a bug on a board is a plus. Responsibilities include: Apple products are shiny, so are our labs. In a team approach you are always striving to keep our test stations in best condition, well documented, tidy, calibrated, and understand the software components installed or are pending for update. Project schedules are tight! You are well prepared to receive the parcel with the newest silicon engineering samples to be tested in our labs. You master the tracking of the units, get them mounted according to plans aligned with validation engineers, act with vigour and diligence to clear the first steps and share the excitement when pilot test runs are passing successfully. It’s hard to achieve perfection, but you will develop a 6th sense to detect a potential upcoming issue on a test station right before lab operation gets interrupted by an actual malfunction. You help to develop automated consistency checks facilitating the concept mentioned. We don’t want you to work 24/7 — We want you to propose, design, and productize approaches (in HW and/or SW depending your expertise and interests) to improve operational reliability to keep hazardous incidents as unlikely as possible. Roll up your sleeves! Up and then your crafting skills are required to handle a new shipment of equipment, get it mounted in the racks, get it powered, connected to our servers and you won’t stop unless we have the new station successfully registered onto our platform. We keep a cool head when something is broken over night. Grow your knowledge by training on the job and learn from the team how to debug smaller and more tricky issues to get the testing station back on track. Become an expert on selected areas.

Education & Experience

Engineer with minimum college degree B.Sc. in the area of electronic engineering or equivalent hands-on experience of 3+ years.
