Apple’s Interactive Media Group (IMG) provides the media and graphics software foundation across all of Apple's innovative products, from iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, to Apple TV, iTunes, and macOS, as well as Apple’s professional and consumer applications. IMG drives Apple’s media experiences with core technologies such as Metal, QuickTime, OpenGL, OpenCL, Core Audio, Quartz Composer, Core Video, Core Animation, and more. Key Qualifications

  • Proficient at coding (Python, Java, C++, etc.)
  • Practical full stack web development skills (REACT, Node JS, etc.)
  • UNIX administration and software debugging skills
  • Knowledge of automated build systems, source control (e.g. subversion, git, or perforce), and compiler concepts
  • Familiar with cloud development (e.g AWS, Kubernetes and Docker)
  • Competent database administration
  • Ability to own tough challenges with a sense of urgency and enthusiasm.
  • Capacity to make sense of complex and sometimes contradictory information to efficiently solve problems


The GPU Software Engineering team partners on all GPU related technology and anything with a display - including HomePod! We cover everything from boot layer, frameworks, OS, kits and AR. This presents a fascinating range of opportunities to work on. As a Release Engineer you'll enjoy a variety of technical build and integration problems, as well as collaborating closely with technical and non-technical colleagues, working cross-fuctionally across SWE, to develop, maintain, and migrate our internal tools and websites into the cloud. In the role you'll have the opportunity to develop your skills in cloud based applications, web development, and database administration, in migration of our projects to Apple Cloud Infrastrucutre. Work will also include authoring automation tools, compiling graphics projects from source, and as well as triage and resolution of build issues. If this is you we'd love to hear from you!

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in EE, CS, or related field or equivalent experience.
