The Global Audit Manager will drive execution and provide governance for Apple’s various electronic waste streams (i.e. Recycler Audit Program). With oversight of the Recycler Audit Program, the Global Audit Manager will support Recycling Operations, the Closed Loop team and assist with the management of Apple’s third-party recyclers and their reverse supply chain. Additionally, the Global Audit Manager will support the performance criteria for maintaining Apples EPEAT certification. The Global Audit Manager will review data analytics and audit data to make informed decisions, and provide specific feedback to Apple stakeholders with time-critical information so that informed business decisions can be made. Additionally, the Global Audit Manager will assess each vendor to verify they meet regulatory requirements and Apple expectations to protect workers and the environment. Position can based on-site at any of the following office locations: San Diego CA, Culver City, CA, Seattle, WA, New York City, NY, Raleigh, NC, or Austin, TX.
- 10+ years of auditing/EHS experience in a variety of manufacturing industries
- Enhance and continuously improve the Recycler Audit Program
- Review data analytics from audits to provide guidance to drive compliance execution
- Work with third-party auditors for conducting external audits
- Self-starter, able to work with or lead cross-functional teams
- Comfortable and effective working with members of all levels of an organization
- Analytical and data driven skill-set to evaluate and develop action planning
- Must have clear communication and writing skills.
- Strong organizational skills including ability to manage large number of projects and track projects through completion
- Professional certification preferred (eg: Exemplar Global Lead Auditor)
The Global Audit Manager will focus on implementing scalable and sustainable solutions for auditing, while increasing compliance within the Recycler Audit Program. The Global Audit Manager will drive execution of the Recycler Audit Program, review data analytics to make informed decisions, and provide feedback to cross-functional teams across Apple. The Global Audit Manager will drive and enhance compliance with regulatory requirements, by working with our customers to improve and enhance internal auditing tools and resources. Additionally, work closely with the Apple’s third-party auditors, Recycling Operations, and the Closed Loop team to develop a comprehensive audit program to drive compliance and continuous improvement. Significant Aspects: Participate in risk assessments to identify high risk operations and determine needed courses of action, monitor mitigation plans and practices, make recommendations as warranted and assist with closing gaps as appropriate. Compliance: Develop and deploy assessment protocols. Provide assessment training and conduct assessments at various locations. Assist sites with their licenses and permitting requirements as needed. Regulatory: Develop and manage systems and practices that encourage continual improvement to drive regulatory performance. Facilitates evaluation and implementation to fiscally mitigate risk for environmental health and safe regulatory matters. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: - Global Recycler Assurance Program Management - Audit Management - Scheduling/Coordination - Meeting with our suppliers to review the downstream vendor maps for Audit Report Review and Finalization - EPEAT Verifications/IEEE1680 Support - Global EHS Support - Provide support to Environmental Affairs Team, Make it Better Project, Global Recycling Team Calls, etc. - Identification and management of significant aspects - Participate in risk assessments to identify high risk operations and determine needed courses of action - Monitor mitigation plans and practices - Make recommendations as warranted and assist with closing gaps as appropriate - Develop and deploy environmental assessment protocols - Provide environmental assessment training and conduct assessments at various locations - Assist sites with their licenses and permitting requirements as needed - Ensure all Apple operated recycling operations are compliant to all applicable laws, regulations, standards, etc. - Early engagement meetings with new recycling suppliers - Evaluate new standards and updates to existing ones. Communicate impact to business teams and integrate into audit portfolio as required
Education & Experience
A Bachelor or Master’s (preferred) degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Math, Physics or a related field of study
