This position is responsible for providing comprehensive environmental support for operations within the Santa Clara Valley. Key expertise in managing environmental programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to; providing technical expertise/research for environmental permits, compliance of chemical Storage locations, air permitting, hazardous waste compliance, stormwater management, and emergency response support.

Key Qualifications

  • 7+ years experience managing or supporting environmental compliance programs
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations including but not limited to hazardous materials management, DOT, BAAQMD, CERS, hazardous waste and universal waste
  • Strong interpersonal written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Excellent capacity to manage multiple complex projects and work independently
  • Advanced problem solving and strategic thinking skills
  • Expertise in anticipating, identifying, and evaluating non-compliant conditions and practices
  • Ability to influence without authority


Provide or arrange for all EHS services for the facility, including but not limited to: - Hazard assessments & site inspections - Emergency response, including after-hours on-call coverage - Regulated waste disposal - Annual CERS inspections - Emergency response, including periodic after-hours on-call coverage - Hazard assessments for new labs and equipment - Incident investigations - Managing Air Permit Database / Permit renewals - Permit Support for new sources or revising existing sources (Emergency Generators, Solvent Use, Paint Booths, HMBPs) - Provide support with permitting for hazardous waste locations for the DTSC / EPA / BOE (Universal Waste, Non-RCRA, RCRA) - Training-Stormwater, CERS, Inspection teams - Develop and implement written environmental, health & safety programs, tools, and materials for the facility - Manage hazardous waste vendor and implement process to provide oversight of waste program compliance - Maintain positive relationships with EHS regulatory agencies for the facility and manage permits, regulatory inspections, and incident reporting - Partner with various site departments, including Facilities, Operations & Maintenance, Project Management, Security, and Wellness - Support Corporate EHS initiatives, including global EHS standards development and EHS metrics reporting and audits - Monitor and communicate emerging regulations and industry standards and implement new controls to minimize risk and ensure compliance

Education & Experience

BA or BS program in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Biology, or a relevant technical field; Master’s degree preferred.
