SPG group is looking for an exceptional regulatory engineer who is a subject matter expert on global regulatory requirements and programs and working with engineering teams to ensure that we are able to sell our product in all planned markets.

Key Qualifications

  • Detailed understanding of global safety and environmental regulations in both self-certification and type approval markets
  • Detailed understanding of global regulations
  • Experience in driving legislative & regulatory changes around the world for new technologies
  • Proven track record for bringing product to market
  • Strong technical background in the design and development of automotive systems
  • Ability to filter and distill relevant information for the right audiences
  • Demonstrated collaboration with team members to achieve project goals and contribute positively to the engineering community
  • Preferred additional experience:
  • Experience working with government agencies and policy makers (DOT, NHTSA, EPA, Congress, State level regulators, Europe, United Nations)
  • Experience representing a company’s interests to various trade associations, NGOs and developing broad coalitions to align regulatory efforts
  • Experience in the development of automated systems and vehicle electrification.

Description

- Provide regulatory and standards guidance and interpretation for product design conformity and strategic product planning - Identify regulatory challenges and work to develop risk assessments - Input, cascade, monitor, and document compliance - Develop research & test plans to support safety arguments for interpretations, exemption requests, or regulatory changes - Develop safety arguments including data to make the case for regulatory change - Prepare and implement long term legislative and regulatory agendas with global safety and environmental agencies

Education & Experience

Degree in Engineering Minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience.
