We are seeking an experienced electrical design engineer responsible for designing and maintaining cutting-edge hardware for a high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) battery management systems (BMS) to enable safe and high-performance battery operation.

Key Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in electrical hardware design, including defining circuit architecture, component selection, schematic capture, and board layout
  • Ability to design for high reliability in harsh operating environments
  • Experience with requirements and best practices for high-voltage designs
  • Strong mixed-signal circuit design skills, including complex microcontroller systems, power delivery, and discrete analog and digital circuits
  • Comfort authoring formal design documentation, including component evaluation, WCCA, DFMEA, and FMEDA analyses on hardware and systems
  • Experience ramping designs from prototypes to high-volume with domestic and overseas manufacturers using product quality control processes.


As an electrical design engineer, the candidate will be responsible for BMS circuitry maturation throughout the lifecycle, and work closely with cross-functional team members, such as safety, systems, mechanical, software, controls, test, and integration engineers. A key responsibility is to decompose requirements into electrical architectures, component requirements, circuit design specifications, and eventual circuit verification at multiple levels. The role also contributes to circuit design failure analysis; leads associated test verification and validation activities at the component and board levels, including specifying test cases and acceptance criteria for functional circuit testing, and collaborating on specialized equipment to execute those tests. A successful candidate will be highly motivated, an exceptional communicator, well versed in the state-of-the-art electronics, and capable of working on design and execution throughout the lifecycle.

Education & Experience

BS in Electrical Engineering or directly related field of study
