In this role, you will lead the investigation on the dip-coating process development for novel optical components in the display field, facing new technical challenges and crafting ground breaking technologies to revolutionize the field of optics. In this position, you will improve your expertise, including but not limited to hard coating material, equipment, and process development, to innovative manufacturable mass-production solutions for next-generation display components; and collaborate with world-class multi-functional teams and worldwide top suppliers to craft the future of interactive and display technologies.

Key Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with hard coating(dip-coating) on plastic substrate, lens, or other optical components
  • Extensive knowledge of dip coating equipment design, maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting
  • Product experience in coating material (solvent-based and etc) and process quality control of optical components
  • Experience in optical coating and optical component failure analysis with chemical, physical and optical analysis tools
  • Chemistry background for coating liquid such as sol-gel mechanism, UV curable mechanism, adhesion, and plastic substrate chemical property is preferable
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing of optical components/devices
  • Knowledgeable of characterization methods (XPS, SEM, TEM, AFM, XRD, FT-IR, etc)
  • Knowledgeable of optical characterization methods (Interferometer, Spectrometer, Ellipsometry, etc)
  • Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently with multi-functional teams
  • Experience in managing domestic and international suppliers, plus the willingness and ability to travel up to 20%
  • Creativity and out-of-box thinking in problem-solving and root cause analysis

Description

- Take total ownership to drive dip-coating (including solvent-based hard coat and etc) development on the molded optical components from early conceptualization exploration to prototypes and high-volume consumer products delivery - Work with internal team to define and integrate manufacturable and cost-effective process solutions for technically sophisticated optical components to enable new designs and functional requirements - Lead the multi-functional interaction with Product Design, Engineering/Operations, and drive the international suppliers to implement the hard coating process tuning and optimization - Lead root cause analysis and solving for failures and component performance improvement - Provide streamlined and meticulous presentation and report to a broad range of collaborators, including management, peers, and suppliers - Require domestic and international travel for work (up to 20%)

Education & Experience

- MS or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Physics, Optics, Electrical Engineering, or technical equivalent with 3+ years of industrial experience in related fields
