As part of our Display Technologies group, you’ll help ensure our products’ displays work beautifully through the successful design, fabrication, and implementation of components in Apple devices. From initial concept to mass production, you’ll develop highly innovative displays for the full line of Apple products, including Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Through touch and sight, these displays are how millions of Apple customers connect with our products every single day. Together, you’ll collaborate with multifunctional teams across Apple to make each interaction a magical experience to see and touch.
Our Display Investigations team is looking for a dedicated Display Technologist candidate who will bring innovations to Apple's unique display technology features that are achieved by the interplay between hardware and software. As a member of our team, the candidate will be participating in building imaging equipment for development of Apple products with phenomenal display qualities. Candidates with strong problem-solving skills combined with deep curiosity about displays will be preferred.
Key Qualifications
- Hands-on experience building imaging systems and programming custom interfaces with lab equipments
- Strong Python/Matlab skills
- Basic shell scripting ability and automated data analysis are preferred
- Understanding in the basic principles of inorganic and organic light-emitting diode (LED/OLED) is a plus
- Basic understanding of colorimetry
- Proven record of problem-solving skills together with self-driven growth mindsets
Description
- Crafting & implementing high throughput electro-optical characterization techniques to support future product development
- Building equipment that uses high sensitivity/fast response optical components such as EMCCD (electron multiplying charge-coupled devices)
- Designing and building hardware by integrating sourced optical components while procuring directly from parts manufacturers
- Writing a proprietary python interface that can drive the setup and collect/sync data to data servers
Education & Experience
MS or PhD degree in Physics, Optics, Material Science, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
