As a Cellular 5G/4G Firmware Power Verification Engineer, you will be at the center of the embedded 5G/4G/multimode cellular firmware effort within a silicon design group responsible for crafting and productizing groundbreaking cellular SoCs. This position requires someone comfortable will all aspects of embedded firmware verification, that thrives in a multi-functional organization, is not afraid to debate ideas openly, and is flexible enough to shift on requirements.

Key Qualifications

  • Minimum BS and 3+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience on working with power optimization methodologies as well as hands-on experience with power measurement tools, preferably in cellular technologies
  • Ability to work multi-functionally with different teams implement power verification test plan that will help achieve the outstanding modem targets
  • Knowledge in wireless systems, 4G/5G physical layer, protocol stack and procedures, power measurement and modem architecture, in particular C-DRX, Airplane modes, different sleep idle state transitions
  • Validated understanding of different interfaces like PCIe, USB, MPHY based RF-BB interconnects, frequency and voltage management and clocking schemes
  • Understanding of SoC architectures, Fabrics, DDRs and DMAs will be an added plus
  • Shown track-record of innovation and hands-on experience in power measurement setup and test methodology
  • Strong understanding of automation tools and scripting languages such as Python, C/C++, Java (a plus)
  • Strong understanding multiple 4G/5G signaling and physical layer test equipment along with their automation interfaces
  • Experience with network emulators, silicon prototyping, emulation systems, and virtual platforms a plus

Description

Work closely with the product teams to define, implement and complete power test plan according to cellular modem power requirements Study and analysis of post-Silicon power measurement data and waveforms to debug issues and identify potential optimization opportunities Design, setup and maintain power test platforms including integration & bring up DUT Active participation in modem power measurement, solving and optimization Work with system engineers and FW developers to understand details of system design, modem architecture and FW implementation to give to power optimization, issue triaging & debugging
