Seeking an enthusiastic systems engineer to own and drive the development and functional integration of the low voltage power distribution and delivery systems for the Special Projects Group. This engineer will be responsible for taking a complex power delivery architecture for a safety-critical and driving the system integration from design through validation and will be in a position to heavily influence the broader system architecture. The LV Power team owns the design and integration of the low voltage (< 60V) power system, starting from the system architecture and carrying responsibilities through to system validation. This role places a strong emphasis on cross-functional leadership and an ability to drive team consensus on technical decisions that best serve the end goal. Strong communication skills and comfort with presenting technical content to a large group are a must. The ideal candidate is someone with a background in systems engineering, functional safety processes, and power systems, and who is eager to apply those skills to the unique challenge of building high reliability systems in an agile, fast-paced environment. Individuals who are self-motivated to develop unique tools to streamline existing processes are highly desired.

Key Qualifications

  • 7+ years industry experience in implementing complex, safety-critical systems
  • Outstanding teamwork skills with a demonstrated ability to learn, share knowledge, and drive consensus with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Superior written, verbal, and visual communication skills
  • Working experience with requirements management tools (e.g. Polarion, Jama, DOORS)
  • Working experience with successful verification and validation for a safety-critical work
  • Strong knowledge and experience with AUTOSAR standards and automotive network protocols (e.g. CAN, LIN, Flexray, A2B)
  • Strong knowledge and experience with ISO26262 processes
  • Fluency in electrical and software design considerations in battery powered systems and battery management
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering preferred

Description

Own and drive the implementation of power delivery and network management features for the LV power distribution system Capture functional diagrams and state machines of the power distribution system design Decompose power system design into engineering requirements and specifications to meet system quality and readiness standards Maintain traceability of engineering requirements and functions Develop and review system verification and validation plans Identify system failure modes and effects; partner with system architects to determine mitigation strategies to comply with functional safety guidelines Present designs and validation results to a group of diverse set of engineers including EEs, MEs, SWEs and others

Education & Experience

BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Software engineering, or Systems engineering 7+ years industry experience in implementing complex, safety-critical systems
