Apple Wireless System Engineering team is looking for an engineer to work on radiated system characterization across different connectivity technologies (WLAN, BT, UWB, GPS) for Apple’s wireless products!

Key Qualifications

  • Industry experience in development/characterization of RF/Antenna system for wireless technologies. Experience in commercializing wireless products is required
  • In depth understanding of wireless system concepts for performance evaluation in at least one of the following technologies: 802.11ax, 802.11ac, WiFi 6E, GNSS, UWB and Bluetooth.
  • Solid understanding of end-to-end link budget and wireless propagation. Hands on experience in modeling using at least one tool - MATLAB, HFSS, CST, ANSOFT, etc.
  • Working experience of RF characterization, Antenna Design and tests, anechoic chambers, and RF test equipment is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with throughput measurement tools like ixChariot, iPerf, Octoscope, etc. is preferred
  • Familiarity with industry conformance requirements for WLAN/BT/GNSS technologies is a bonus.

Description

- Apply wireless system design /characterization knowledge towards addressing wireless performance requirements in consumer products - Translate carrier/regulatory/conformance requirements into system requirements for chipset and platform - Drive system understanding of link budget as well as its impact on feature performance via simulation/measurement. - Architect and coordinate execution of SW features necessary to achieve best in class system performance - Help drive features/ topics in standardization venues in-line with Apple’s product goals - Assist engineers in defining test plan for custom features. This would include defining requirements for custom testing solutions and working with TE vendors. - Facilitate engineers in debugging performance concerns and facilitate fixes for fundamental issues across platforms

Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree with 10 or more years of relevant work experience.
