As part of our Camera Technologies group, you’ll help design the innovative technology that allows each generation of Apple products to produce photos even more incredible than the last. You’ll design and develop groundbreaking ideas for everything involved in our camera systems, from sensor to lens. You’ll collaborate with teams across Apple to research, design, develop, test, and qualify camera hardware for Apple products. Together, we’ll craft a magical photography experience that redefines what millions of customers can expect from their cameras. The Camera Hardware Engineering group is responsible for the design, development, and innovation of camera technologies for all related Apple products. Our target is to deliver superior camera hardware to enable outstanding camera user experience. We are looking for an enthusiastic, high energy individual who can help us with tomorrow’s challenges.

Key Qualifications

  • Expertise on high speed interface (e.g. MIPI, PCIe, DP, HDMI, USB), control interface (I2C, SPI, SPMI) and power circuits (linear regulator, SMPS).
  • Hands on the characterization or measurement of: circuit timings, clock jitter, TDR, S-para, eye diagram, PSRR, transient response, noise spectrum density, etc.
  • Experienced on various measurement equipment such as: oscilloscope, power supply, power analyzer, spectrum analyzer, VNA, BERT, function generators, protocol analyzers, etc.
  • Experience in validation/test automation, Python and Matlab.
  • Good understanding of electrical noise, conducted and field coupling mechanisms, EM shielding, sources of loss, interconnects, transmission line theory, antenna fundamentals, de-sense / coexistence issues, and how to debug them.
  • Excellent process development and documentation skills. Must be very accurate and diligent in measurements and record keeping.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with critical thinking

Description

- Measure and analyze prototype camera sub-system SI/PI performance and provide feedback/recommendations for design optimization. - Define new characterization/validation plans for simulation correlation and hardware design sign-off. - Co-work with design teams for high speed channel and power delivery network budgeting for camera feature integration. - Conduct design feasibility study for future generations.

Education & Experience

BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience

Additional Requirements

  • Knowledge of image sensors and camera module hardware
  • Cellular/Wireless awareness: 5G, LTE, BT, WiFi, UWB, NFC, etc.
  • Self-sufficient for reworking prototype hardware with misc. probes, wires, and component swapping down to 0201 size.
  • Skilled user of AutoCAD & Cadence
