The Subject Matter Expert - Data Intern is responsible for the artificial intelligence support of engineering development projects related to Anodizing and Electroplating across Apple’s product portfolio. The successful candidate will support multi-functional teams of skilled engineers. As part of Manufacturing Design’s Subject Matter Expert team, create new highly cosmetic surface finishes. Work with Apple’s Industrial Design and Product Design teams to develop surface finishes with new colors and textures.
Key Qualifications
- Minimum requirements:
- - Master or PhD in data science field (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning)
- - Detailed knowledge of the control modeling and predictive modeling.
- - Exceptional interpersonal skills, attention to detail, strong follow-through.
- - Familiar with analytics, multiple advanced regression methods, random forest, neural network coding, API service
- - Excellent interpersonal and communication skill with capability to work independently and under pressure.
- - Good spoken and written English with proficient Mandarin.
- Preferred requirements:
- - Experience with highly cosmetic consumer electronics devices
- - Surface Finishing technical background
Description
- Lead API service development, API automation optimization (AdHoc), PCA test, High frequency data feature engineering, model selection and evaluation, deployment and optimization
- Enable the development efforts by creating and deploying dye control model and predictive model between Apple teams and external vendors/suppliers
- Research new methods for creating advanced neural network models and implementing tighter control of existing finishes (colors)
- Facilitate communication and offer multiple levels of support to analytics work
- Drive day to day coding activities to meet overall program objectives
- Plan and implement studies to confirm modeling confidence level to achieve excellent quality and high yields on enclosures
- Apply combined AI/ML technologies to create a dye model for Anodized finishes to meet challenging new targets.
- Fast learner, ability to work closely with multi-functional teams on developing a finishing modeling with engineering expertise
- Periodic domestic and overseas travel expected
