We are looking for a PR & Corporate Communications Manager based in Thailand to drive planning and execution of our corporate communications programs and initiatives across the Thai market. You are a highly experienced PR executive with a stellar track record and a proven leader in your field of expertise with the ability to influence your stakeholders. This is a hands-on media relations leadership role, working day-to-day with the regional team and agency partner to engage with media and tune in to what is happening locally to ensure our messages are accurately delivered in the appropriate depth and scale, to the right audience at the right time. The role will drive strategy and execution of results-oriented PR programs and initiatives throughout Thailand. This is foremost a media and content creator relations role. You will be hands on, working day-to-day to engage with local journalists, influencers, content creators and creative pros explaining our products and services and bringing them to life through feature stories that showcase their benefits to consumers. Excellent communication and relationship building skills are essential to build alignment and advocacy across multiple partners in the worldwide team in Cupertino. The ideal candidate will be an extraordinary team-player, be self-motivated, curious, with a passion for consumer technology, innovation and culture, as well as having a deep understanding of the local media landscape and social media space. It’s essential to be highly organised, to work under tight deadlines and navigate a world of ambiguity, and have a deep appreciation for details. Key Qualifications

  • 10+ years experience in PR. This might include roles in PR agencies or corporate PR departments
  • Experience working for or with a global organisation in both consumer and/or corporate PR capacity, consumer technology and lifestyle markets are preferred
  • Deep understanding and network with local media/journalists, social influencers and/or content creators
  • Proven ability to understand business challenges and formulate effective communications strategies that support the audience needs and business goals
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills in both Thai and English, combined with detailed project management
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically, to continually prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic, creative, energizing environment
  • Highly collaborative with extraordinary social, influencing and relationship-building skills
  • Experience in issues management and navigating complex regulatory environments
  • Ability to travel

Description

Strategically plan and execute public relations initiatives supporting products, software, services and values in line with global and local priorities, insights and challenges. Use outstanding knowledge of the local media landscape to broaden and deepen our connections with consumer, lifestyle, technology, business and trade outlets, as well as emerging media, content creators and creative pros Identify and capitalise on new opportunities to deliver quality coverage and earned media outcomes Identify new and creative ways to reach influential media, develop/localise relevant content, and share Apple's story in innovative ways Support and advise the broader business and leadership teams through crisis management, internal communications, and providing communications counsel to other local leaders where required Stay on top of key coverage and ahead of the news agenda, keeping the wider local and worldwide teams up to date on what's going on in your markets Manage and respond to day-to-day press inquiries and update media on the latest Apple news. Manage and handle distribution of PR materials and resources, provide context and recommendations on localisation needs Coordinate key press briefings, press tours, attendance at special events, compile coverage and report on results. Plan and execute executive visits in close collaboration with senior leadership Manage local agencies who partner the SEA PR team to deliver and execute against the Thailand marketing strategy Handle crisis and other reactive PR situations with poise, knowing when and how to respond to media inquiries; diffuse rumours, and resolve conflicting messages. Proactively identify and raise potential public issues that may impact Apple. Define and deliver product seeding programs to support launches, momentum campaigns and content reviews. Identify new opportunities and handhold media to ensure a seamless experience. Media management To plan and deliver launch and ongoing campaigns that meet the international and local objectives. To work with teams globally and locally to identify opportunities and implement locally. Crafting and executing results-oriented PR programs focusing on media, content creators, creative pros and influencer engagement and Apple Services business. Have the ability to dive deep into our target segments and markets to identify influencers and media to share Apple values and the product story. Growing reliance on influential voices in Thailand for photography, videography, health, fitness, creative, music, entertainment, education and parenting. Manage and respond to day-to-day influencers enquiries and ensure our influencers list and profile are up to date. Managing PR inventory; keep track of devices and accessories, update the tracking spreadsheets on a timely basis, coordinate for delivery and pick up. Corporate PR To work with Geo Corporate PR to ensure global plans within the Corporate PR function are implemented locally. Handle crisis and other reactive PR situations with grace and ease, knowing when and how to respond to influencers inquiries. Identify and escalate potential public issues that may impact Apple; diffuse rumours, and resolve conflicting messages. Planning, Reporting & Budget Management Planning and management of a number of projects, prioritising these to meet critical deadlines delivering work on time and on budget. Organise briefings with influencers and media; planning of briefings, capturing coverage, and reporting on results. Manage local agencies who partner the SEA PR team to deliver and execute against the Thailand marketing strategy. Manage localisation of newsroom and press releases across all lines of business. Provide information when requested on PR matters and produce an on-time, regular report of activities, coverage, and issues which are distributed across key PR news to local and international team when relevant. To deliver budget recommendations for future activities, including raising POs on time for all work and to track budgets throughout each quarter, keeping to agreed spending limits. Key Performance Indicators Quality targeted coverage. Increase of Apple's visibility and media impact: new media, higher frequency, and "size" of articles. Systematic coverage within key media for any new launch and agreed momentum activities. Increase of visibility for specific segments.

Education & Experience

University degree in Business, Communications, Marketing or Journalism or equivalent experience.
