Our team is responsible for the technical management of engineering development projects within Apple’s System Performance Architecture and Professional Workflows (SPA-PWF) organization. We drive alignment across multiple teams to define system performance targets and lead the multi-year validation process across Apple devices spanning Mac, iPad, and iPhone product lines. By joining us in this role, you will be involved in developing workflows and assessing performance and usability of the Apple ecosystem (hardware, software, 3rd party) to inform system architecture decisions and software functionality to enable our most demanding professional users. The ideal candidate will have a unique combination of computer architecture understanding, familiarity with software development cycle, and experience enabling large multi-disciplinary teams to deliver consumer electronic systems quickly and with high quality. They will understand the who, what and how of hardware development, create and coordinate the program plan, and successfully drive it while balancing multiple objectives and priorities. Key Qualifications

  • Prior experience leading program management or engineering design of rapid development products
  • Knowledge of computer architecture and system development; familiarity with software development process
  • Experience collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams; ideally including Systems Engineering and Silicon Design
  • Resilience and flexibility when faced with uncertainty and changes in direction.
  • Self-motivated with strong critical thinking capabilities
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to simplify complexities.
  • Excellent communication, organization and leadership skills with ability to inspire and align team members; ability to filter and distill relevant information and package for the right audience.

Description

•Lead curation of system performance modeling and characterization workloads; assist the team in efficiently running internal development efforts to support validation process. •Lead the process of establishing product performance targets and relevant validation workflows from architecture through execution. •Identify and highlight risk areas, develop mitigation strategies in partnership with impacted teams. •Understand critical issues and drive them to closure by bringing together key team members for decision making. •Support multiple levels of status updates across teams, to both individual contributors and executive management. •Enable the development effort by creating and monitoring an efficient, streamlined process. •Initiate project kickoffs across Engineering teams to meet ambitious schedules. •Plan and implement validation phases, directing internal teams and engaging external teams. •Lead multi-functional communication between projects teams.

Education & Experience

Most of our engineers have advanced degrees such as MS /MBA in Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Engineering (CE), or Computer Science (CS). However, if you’ve followed a different path to expertise in hardware engineering, we still want to hear from you.
