The Camera Hardware Engineering group is responsible for the development of key technology for Apple products.
We are seeking an energetic and highly motivated metrology engineer to work on advanced optical technology development together.

Description
You will work on the development of the precision metrology, mainly using 3D coordinate measuring machine (3D-CMM).
The measurement targets are metal mold parts that require micron or sub-micron precision, or molded plastic optical parts, therefore it is recommended to have experience in precision mechanical measurement and also recommended to be familiar with methods to analyze data in detail, as the data acquired are often close to the limit of measurement.
It is also necessary to accurately understand how to take datum and geometric tolerances from the drawings and reflect them in the measurement program.
Especially in development phase, we often handle the advanced shape, so one of our important tasks is to propose measurement methods that take into account the intentions of the design.
We are seeking a person with logical thinking, self-driven and willing to take on challenges in a collaborative manner.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience with precision measurement using 3D coordinate measuring machine (3D-CMM) or similar equipments
- Experience creating auto-measurement programs baed on understanding of mechanical drawings
- Strong collaboration and organization capability with high motivation and strive for excellence
Key Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to select appropriate analysis for the visualization, using Matlab, Python, C/C++/C#, etc.
- Familiarity with various measurement methods and ability to propose appropriate methods and procedures, based on measurement needs.
- Experience with analysis of point data and point cloud.
Education & Experience
B.S./M.S. in Science, Technology, Engineering or equivalent field
Additional Requirements
- Experience of measuring molded resin parts
- Experience with measuring optical parts and molds
- Familiarity with optical parts, optical design, machining and mold fabrication
- Design measurement jig using 3D-CAD
- Japanese: Daily conversation and reading
