Key Qualifications

Strong problem solving skills and able to write production quality clean code.
4+ years of hands-on experience in building scalable systems for training & evaluating of machine learning/deep learning models.
Familiarity with deploying model for large scale inferencing & optimizations.
Experience with NLP
Familiarity with any deep learning libraries - PyTorch/Keras/Tensorflow.
Demonstrated experience in improving content understanding & data quality at scale.
Familiarity with high throughput, low latency applications & large scale data processing pipelines, data wrangling techniques.
Quick learner who can work independently as well as in a team.

Description

We design and build features that empowers Apple users. Our team processes billions of urls to find the best content to surface to users through search. We build critical features on content intelligence that improves indexing, web ranking & many AIML initiatives at Apple. We apply statistical analysis to improve content intelligence quality among many diverse set of problems. You will have the opportunity to work with large scale systems with trillions of rows and many petabytes of data and incredible complexity. We are responsible for the end to end ownership of our pipelines and services, from conception, to design, to implementation, to deployment, to operations. As a result, each one of us takes our responsibilities seriously, while having a lot of fun building the best features to improve data quality at scale. Candidate who joins our team will be responsible for the following * Drive the feature from inception to production launch that will help improve Siri, Search & AIML initiatives in Apple products * Work with cross functional teams & stakeholders to solve ambiguous problems * Build software that improves experimentation and helps team make better decisions about what to try next - train, deploy, evaluate, and debug models for complex tasks * Drive the organizational goals & OKRs * Deliver artifacts, code with high quality

Education & Experience

Our applications are complex and strong programming skills and computer science fundamentals are essential. Whether you have a traditional CS degree or self-taught or learned some other way, we’d love to talk with you.

Additional Requirements

Nice to have:
* Experience with any of information extraction, large language models, web search
* Understanding of distributed systems, technologies like containerization, kubernetes and cloud platform (AWS, GCP, Azure)
* Experience with OCR & image text alignment is a plus.
* Experience with GPU inferencing, model compression, model quantization is a plus

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $138,900.00 and $256,500.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
