Apple Accessories Hardware Engineering team is searching for a driven, hardworking electrical engineer for electrical system design validation. As a successful applicant, you will provide validation processes and strategy throughout various stages of design and development from silicon and system architecture to component selection, schematic capture, prototyping and manufacturing. You will become part of a hands-on development team that nurtures engineering excellence and creativity. Key Qualifications
- Must have great EE fundamentals. This means you have a deep understanding of why our field works the way it does; you’ve developed an intuition and can apply it to new topics because you understand the basics.
- Must have hands-on experience in prototype bring-up and debugging
- Must have experience in functional testing and validation of electrical systems as well as hardware / software integration and fault tree analysis.
- Must have experience with test automation tools and programming language such as Python, Tableau, JMP.
- Experience in EE schematics and hardware design
- Experience in low power embedded systems, from 8-bit and 16-bit microcontrollers to multi-core ARM-based SoC’s
- Familiarity with various data protocols: USB, UART, I2C, SPI, JTAG, SWD
- Experience with lab equipment including oscilloscopes, DMM’s, VNA’s, thermal test equipment, data loggers etc.
- Experience in the following areas is especially desirable: DC/DC power design, microcontrollers, USB-PD, wireless charging, sensing technologies
- Strategic and analytical thinking
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well cross-functionally.
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience
Description
On the team you will engage with a rewarding variety of responsibilities:
Leading the accessories EE hardware validation and verification strategy, planning and execution
Developing necessary processes to ensure end to end validation of the product and its functionality for various use cases and environmental conditions
Leading the development of test fixture within the team or through contract manufacturer
Leading the test automation and burn-in tests to ensure product quality and robustness
Analyze and track test results and work on trade-offs to resolve design conflicts
Working cross functionally to resolve potential failures and report test data to higher level managers.
Review and analyze design schematic and component selection with our team of designers
Collaborate with cross functional teams involved in product design, hardware test engineering and development process at Apple
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering plus 5+ years of relevant industry experience
