One of the wonderful things about working at Apple is being able to bring great new technologies to all of our users. That said, at Apple, it's not really about the technology itself... it's how we take that innovation and shape it to create first-of-a-kind experiences. Furthermore, we endeavor to make it easy for partners and developers to take advantage of these innovative technologies and do amazing things that we couldn't have even imagined. Specifically, this role will drive Apple's approach to incorporating a groundbreaking new technology into a range of new user experiences, all made available within our Apple partner ecosystems.

Description

Our ideal candidate is someone who can take a complex and exciting new technology and, working with cross-functional partners, define, develop and build Apple’s approach to enabling this technology for app developers and their customers around the world. It requires deeply understanding not just the engineering complexities of the technology itself, but a broad understanding of the business of app development, and what motivates app developers to adopt a new technology. Further, as the internal advocate for the program - requires a strong ability to describe technologies to others in easy-to-grasp ways. This role demands confidence and communication skills to foster executive-level debate and decision. Collaboration skills are also fundamental, with an appreciation of it means to be on both sides of a business relationship, making sure that everybody wins. This candidate will push at the edges of what might feel comfortable — while always advocating for the best outcome for our users, not necessarily the simplest or most straight-forward implementation. Specifically, the role will include understanding the technology, both the benefits and constraints, learning about the ecosystem of 3rd party integration with Apple’s products then developing the right approach Apple should take in bringing this technology to partners & app developers. It will entail soliciting feedback from internal partners, and finding the right balance between advocating for an approach, and incorporating feedback along the way to improve, change, and even pivot where we started from. Goals for the role include but are not limited to 1. Defining the right approach to bring this new technology to our third party ecosystem 2. Gaining cross-Apple alignment on the best approach to bring this technology to life 3. Working closely with technical teams to ruthlessly prioritize & focus implementation

Education & Experience
