Supply Chain Development Managers on the Real Estate & Development Team (RE&D) establish the strategic, long-term deal structuring, and negotiation of Owner Furnished Item (OFI) manufacturing partners. This position requires working with RDM’s Innovation and Visual Merchandizing and RE&D’s Global Architecture Design to develop the OFI manufacturing partners and are responsible for supplier readiness. The position requires an interest in bill of materials development, pricing, manufacturing processes, and risk mitigation. The team drives centralized onboarding for all new suppliers assigned OFI scope for RE&D.

Successful SCDMs thrive in a rapidly changing environment and constantly drive excellence across their own responsibilities as well as that of team members and partners. They frequently leverage strategic internal relationships to effectively collaborate with design, development and other Apple teams. You can make smart decisions with the information available, think and stay focused, and communicate concisely and effectively with senior management as well as peers. SCDMs scale new and existing manufacturing partners as well as executing creative and strategic commercial deals to achieve goals around cost, supply, and quality STRATEGY: - Work with a cross functional team to validate the overall project initiative timeline of inbound work. - Manage the project initiative work to timely completion of each programmatic gate. Track project initiative status and report progress to cross functional partners. - Handle proposals and change orders for supplier counter-sourcing project initiatives. - Facilitate and lead project initiative meetings for the Supply Chain Development team with internal and external partners including the vendor supplier manufacturing partners. - Identify and validate new supply chain manufacturing partners for project initiatives which are intended as OFI. - Develop and implement overall supply chain strategy and be expected to handle executive level relationships with supply base. - Travel as required to facilitate new supplier onboarding and ensure quality specifications are met for worldwide supply base. - Lead resources and drive the distribution of commodity level RFP’s and contract negotiations. - Effectively work with suppliers to negotiate optimal terms for sourcing and price. Understand trade-offs between cost, volume, and quality to complete agreements that meet Apple’s performance criteria and secure long term supply continuity. - Collaborate across the Apple organization to ensure business objectives are met. Includes the ability to rapidly synthesize and communicate findings to senior leaders and to actively identify potential supply issues that can affect RE&D roadmaps. - Partner with Strategic Sourcing Managers for cost and schedule efficiency opportunities. - Partner with Sourcing Program Managers, Innovation, Visual Merchandizing, and Global Architecture & Design to improve the ways of working.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in supply chain development, strategic sourcing, or procurement.
  • Strong analytical/negotiation skills, with a background in contracts.
  • Demonstrated tenacious problem solving & issue resolution skills and ability to toggle between strategic and detail orientated thinking.
  • Hands-on experience in any of the following: product development, building construction systems, fixture/furniture systems, design, manufacturing practices/techniques, vendor management, or supply chain development.
  • Must have experience working well with and ability to influence cross functional teams.
  • Possess strong discernment and experience leading strategic supply chains, cost models, and complex procurements.

  • Experience in Procurement with Construction Materials: Proven experience in procurement specifically related to construction materials, including knowledge of market trends and vendor capabilities.
  • Experience with Integrated Systems: Deep understanding of integrated systems used in retail and corporate environments, including architectural materials, furniture, fixtures, lighting, and technology infrastructure.
  • Global Sourcing Experience: Experience in managing global suppliers and understanding international procurement practices.
  • Risk Management Expertise: Advanced skills in risk assessment and mitigation strategies, particularly in the context of large-scale development projects.
  • Innovation in Manufacturing: Experience in developing and implementing innovative manufacturing processes and solutions.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Ability to leverage data analytics for decision-making and process improvements.
  • Knowledge of Sustainability Practices: Familiarity with sustainable practices in construction and procurement.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, Excellent communicator, capable of working in multinational environments, driven and motivated by accomplishing extraordinary objectives.
