As a member of the Real Estate & Development facilities team you will be able to operate as a true partner to local business unit leaders. You will work to ensure all Apple facilities and all related equipment are maintained to highest standards in a fast-paced environment. The Facilities Maintenance Technician regularly interacts with people at all levels throughout the company and always represent the Facilities Team in a professional manner. Having passion and in-depth knowledge of Property Maintenance, Facilities Operations, skilled building trades, building systems and building control systems, is essential. You should have experience developing and implementing programs. We are looking for an experienced and vibrant professional who will excel within an entrepreneurial culture providing vision, leadership, and communication without being afraid to dive into the details. You should also understand the nuances of being approachable and providing direction to business unit requests.

Description

- Consistently work on complex assignments requiring thinking, action, and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues. - Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments. - Maintains and repairs the facility's structure, equipment, and grounds including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems. - Performs skilled trades work such as carpentry or painting in the construction, repair, or alteration of structures such as walls, roofs, or office fixtures. - Works from blueprints, drawings, or rough sketches to complete tasks or projects on a regular basis. - Performs plumbing repairs and maintenance such as clearing clogged lines, replacing fixtures and valves, repairing leaks. - Performs minor electrical repairs. - Makes periodic or special inspections of the premises to determine repair work necessary. - Directly supervises subcontracted vendors. Performs quality control on subcontracted vendor activities. - Respond after hours to emergencies when designated as an on-call technician. - Capable of working flexible hours to support business operations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of related experience.
  • Experience with, and understanding of, the accurate use of common hand tools
  • Proficient in the use of specialized tools and test equipment
  • Advanced understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing concepts
  • Experience with construction schematics and drawings
  • Experience with Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Valid California Driver's License
  • NFPA 70E Electrical Safety Training and Universal EPA Training
  • High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications

  • AA or BA/BS degree
  • Experience with productivity software and iOS applications
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent customer service skills
