Are you ready to work on Apple’s most personal device? Come join the Apple Watch systems hardware team! We are a team of system electrical engineers that work on Apple Watch from concept to mass production. Our system team is at the center of the wider engineering group - working cross-functionally with silicon and architecture teams, mechanical engineers, software and firmware engineers, test group, and module teams such as RF/wireless, health sensing, battery, and many more. In this role, you will help turn architecture concepts into reality for the next set of incredible products. This is a design engineering position with significant cross-functional interactions to continually push the technology implemented in one of our most complex wearable device products.

Description

As a system hardware integration electrical engineer in Watch, you will be responsible for the design, build, and validation throughout our product development cycle. You will use your electrical engineering skills in responsibilities including: - Early architecture handoff, technology concept investigations and prototyping - PCB and FPC design, and cross-functional system integration - bench validation, electrical function verification, and signal characterization - hands on debug and failure analysis of manufacturing, component quality, reliability, and system coexistence issues - factory build support from early NPI through product ramp

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering with 3~4 years of relevant industry hardware experience
  • Excellent EE fundamentals with a solid understanding in one or more of the following areas: system integration product design, processor and component selection, embedded communication protocols (USB, SPI, I2C, UART, JTAG/SWD), signal integrity and power delivery networks, power electronics and switching converters, sensor and low power module design.
  • Experience with schematic capture, constraint driven PCB layout using Cadence tools or similar. Strong working knowledge of prototyping, hardware bringup, bench debug and validation. Hands on experience with standard EE lab equipment. (e.g. DMM, Oscilloscope, Power Supply, Electronic Load, Logic Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer)
