Description

Supports manufacturing research and development to solve complex problems that have a direct impact on the final product cost, quality, and delivery of Apple products. Under broad goals and objectives, exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in suggesting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions to complex problems. Provides assistance to set up standard practices and independently resolves impact to design approaches and parameters to the final product. Applies extensive expertise in all facets of mechanical product design. Provides advice, guidance, and resources to other engineering groups and project leaders as well as factory technicians. Supports a variety of projects and participates in the project planning of major sub-projects. Keeps abreast of all relevant technical trends and developments and incorporates them in appropriate assignments. Supports software solutions used to scale, secure, and shape the automated assembly and test systems used to manufacture Apple products. Collaborate closely with cross-functional Apple teams, vendors, and contract manufacturers to define factory systems requirements, architecture, and design. Maintain and improve existing visualization and statistical analysis programs that provide intelligent business insights. Performs assignments in several of the following manufacturing engineering functions: Design for Manufacturability - Provides early and ongoing manufacturing involvement to ensure new products are mechanically manufactured. Product Engineering - Supports all phases of a product from concept to repeat manufacturing to end of life. Provides production support engineering technically complex testing methods, procedures, and failure analysis. Process Engineering - Designs and develops technically complex processes to improve quality and efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BSME or equivalent (MSME, MSIE desired), majors in Mechanical / Electrical /Computer science engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in an Engineering or Engineering Lead role
  • New product introduction and Manufacturing Operations experience desired.
  • Proven track record of cost reduction, project management, and engineering design required.
  • Understand and build product/automation machine / manual alignment fixtures tolerance stack-ups (GD&T principles) according to 3D files (@ both assembly & part level).
  • Fluent in written and spoken Mandarin and English.

  • Candidate must have the ability to communicate optimally in a worldwide environment. And multi-functional team.
  • Experience personal design and complete understanding of Cp/CpK and GRR for bringing up and qualifying fixtures.
  • A strong plus would be knowledge of optics principles as they relate to CCD cameras, 2D and 1D lasers, pick and place, measurement, screw and dispense connect assy process.
  • Working knowledge of pneumatics, servo motors, PLC, and PC-based control systems is a plus.
  • Data analysis find fixture problem or product design issue and set up DOE prove your concept.
  • Experience of manage MP fixtures and improvement
  • Software usage of Excel, Jump, Keynote, and for the purpose of compiling data and reports into the presentation.
  • Bi-lingual with an emphasis on the ability to clearly communicate in English.
