The Battery Pack Product Design and Operation team is responsible for battery module development from initial system architecture through product ramp and is tightly integrated with Product Development, Operations, Industrial Design and Reliability Testing.

Description

The Product Design Operation group collaborates closely with System Engineering, Battery PD, Reliability and Operations teams to generate and implement module reliability testing designs and installation equipment. This role is significant for the validation of battery pack and cell designs and for generation of known performance. This role will be responsible for developing battery pack testing installation equipment and test buck fabrication with vendors in China as well as ensuring accurate execution of module installation and testing through rev A release and ORT. We hope you can also demonstrate your effort in region to implement DOEs to validate new structured/designed battery packs. You will: - Work with vendors to develop battery pack to test buck installation equipment based on FATP installation processes and parameters, including creating equipment SOWs, MSOPs and equipment tooling documentation. - Validate equipment functionality by following OK2X process to do machine/EQ qualification. - Approval of operational SOP, equipment HMI content and layout, PM schedule, equipment BOM and instruction manual. - Update and maintain installation equipment design to reflect system or installation changes. - Collaborate with system and battery PD to mimic pack gaps at installation - Work multi-functionally with GSM and EPM to drive and manage procurement, inspection and approval - Work with Tekscan pressure measurement system to validate pack PSA installation pressures. - Assist Pack PD with FA/CA of pack fabrication issues at pack house and DOEs to validate new structured/designed battery packs - Communicate program status to multi-functional team and managemen

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS degree or equivalent experience in engineering required
  • Demonstrated ability in design, material handling, assembly automation, process development and measurement inspection systems
  • Experience in product, fixture and equipment design
  • Ability to drive programs to completion, and identify and communicate clear project goals and project plans
  • Proficiency in English and Mandarin as working language

  • Strong FA/CA experience
  • Highly data-driven with understanding of statistical process controls
  • Strong understanding of design, development and qualification processes
  • Proven experience in equipment design for component fabrication and assembly
  • Knowledge of inspection methodology and equipment
  • Familiarity with Lithium-based battery technologies is highly desired
  • Consistent track record to develop high performing multi-functional team relationships and individuals
  • Outstanding time management and project management skills, ability to effectively handle multiple project timelines
