APPLE is seeking an OLED Thin Film Engineer to join our dynamic team focused on developing the next generation of display products. In this fast-paced environment, you will have the opportunity to apply fundamental principles to create top-tier displays. Your role will be crucial in driving innovations in OLED technology for upcoming products, focusing on core thin film techniques such as ALD, PECVD, and Inkjet Printing. You will collaborate with Apple headquarters and global OLED display suppliers to transition these technologies from research and development to prototyping and mass production.

Description

As a Thin Film Engineer, you will maintain equipment and process performance while developing new technologies and collaborating with cross-functional teams to advance display development. • Work as an Asia-based Thin Film Equipment & Process Engineer, with possible shift work for process operations. • Collaborate with teams in California and partners in Asia to develop and qualify OLED processes and equipment for new products, leading technology evaluations. • Achieve top performance through improved manufacturing processes. Study thin film physics to enhance OLED displays and assess properties of ALD, PECVD, and IJP films. • Define and document the required physical, mechanical, electrical, and optical properties for optimal product performance. • Perform failure analysis, ensuring accurate data collection and repor

Minimum Qualifications

  • M.S. or above in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent with 3+ years of related working experiences.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience with flat panel display or semiconductor thin film equipment and processes (e.g., PECVD, PEALD, IJP).
  • At least 2 years of experience using statistical data analysis tools such as JMP, Minitab, etc.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Key Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in display management roles, including fab operations, SPC and relative KPIs, yield improvement, SOP documentation, and R&D activities.
  • Ability to model thin films using FEA or first principles and collaborate with cross-functional experts to create realistic simulations of novel concepts.
  • Ability to perform Design of Experiments (DOE) and conduct failure analysis for yield and quality improvement of products.
  • Theoretical knowledge of thin film mechanics, physics, materials chemistry, or optics.
  • Familiarity with metrology techniques such as SEM, TEM, FIB, XRD, AFM, IR, SIMS, and
  • chemical analysis for material characterization.
  • Familiarity with ALD, PECVD, or Inkjet thin films.
  • Self-motivated and eager to tackle tech challenges and demonstrate leadership, with
  • strong teamwork, proactive problem-solving skills, and a clear communication style.
  • Willing to travel internationally.
