Apple’s Biophotonics group is seeking an enthusiastic data engineer to collaborate with an R&D team developing a new generation of bio-sensing technologies. The ideal candidate will have experience developing and maintaining data pipelines to prepare clinical data for analysis.
• Own the secure clinical data platform for all of Biophotonics’ studies
• Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain data pipelines and data processing tools
• Work with other Apple teams to understand and implement data governance policies
• Collaborate to develop and maintain study monitoring and analysis tools
• Develop requirements in conjunction with analysts, SW engineers and other stakeholders
• Support clinical studies with a range of sizes and complexities
• Detect inefficiencies; optimize processes and data flows
• Write and maintain unit tests and CI to maintain high data integrity and consistency
- BS degree in Computer Science or related field
- Experience in data engineering
- Experience programming in Python
- SQL experience
- 10+ years experience in data engineering on AWS or GCP platforms
- Demonstrated ability to perform independent and high quality data engineering with >100 TB of data
- Excellent communicator/facilitator within and between groups
- Experience working with clinical or human study data
- Experience processing and analyzing data in Matlab
- Familiarity with one or more of: Medrio EDC, Hadoop, Spark, Docker, Artifactory, AirFlow
- Familiarity with signal processing
