Privacy & Cybersecurity Counsel

As a part of our Legal group, you’ll help uphold Apple’s high ethical and corporate standards by providing legal support for all our products and businesses across the globe. Working for a company that invents entire categories and industries means you’ll be challenged to creatively apply your deep legal expertise to rare and often unexplored aspects of the law. As Privacy & Cybersecurity Counsel you will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic and experienced team on privacy and cybersecurity issues impacting Apple’s business and products across the globe. You will work directly with key stakeholders, including business teams, engineers and across the legal department on Apple privacy and security activities, including regulatory issues and policy matters.
At Apple, we consider that Privacy is a fundamental human right. As part of this role you will have the opportunity to work directly with key stakeholders on a variety of cutting edge projects including:
- Providing legal support to teams assessing privacy and cybersecurity practices and requirements
- Assisting with legal advocacy and policy work on privacy, cybersecurity and online safety issues
- Drafting and negotiating data protection and cybersecurity agreements
- Responding to cybersecurity and privacy incidents
- 4+ years experience counseling on privacy and security legal issues, including policy matters, data protection and cybersecurity agreements, and incident response,
- JD or equivalent and admission to at least one US state bar
- • In-house experience a plus but not essential
- • Excellent organizational and communication skills
- • Exceptional written and verbal skills
- • Ability and commitment to work both independently and collaboratively with numerous people at all levels throughout the company
- • Sound business judgment, and flexibility/adaptability to manage multiple wide-ranging matters, conflicting deadlines, and new areas of expertise as business needs change
- • Demonstrated ability, in a positive, commercial and practical manner, to identify, prioritize and resolve issues quickly and effectively
