Our SRE team is looking for a dynamic EPM to help build and run services that millions of customers use every day. We are looking for star performers to drive projects for various areas of Apple Cloud Infrastructure. You’ll be partnered with a team whose mission it is to build, maintain and improve Apple’s most critical cloud services. ABOUT YOU: You are an ambitious individual who is proactive and able to work under minimal supervision at a detailed level while taking account of interdependencies at higher levels. Can you coordinate multiple projects across multiple locations? We need someone with excellent written and interpersonal skills who pays attention to the details and is highly organized. Description
This role is critical to ensuring the stability and scalability of our storage infrastructure. By effectively managing storage capacity, you will prevent costly over-provisioning, avoid resource shortages that could impact the business, and optimize our supply chain for maximum efficiency. You will directly contribute to the smooth operation of our services and play a key role in supporting future growth.
The Capacity Management EPM team drives the strategy and execution of capacity management tools and operations, ensuring optimal resource allocation and scalability across our infrastructure. We deliver reliable, cost-effective services through proactive forecasting and risk mitigation.
Responsibilities:
* Own storage capacity planning and management, ensuring optimal resource allocation for multiple storage platforms.
* Drive forecasting, fulfillment, and capacity risk management, mitigating potential disruptions to the business.
* Collaborate with Compute Capacity Planning to ensure seamless alignment between Compute and Storage resources.
* Establish scalable processes for collecting and aggregating storage demand signals and integrating and optimizing server supply chain signals
* Partner with SREs, EPMs, central business operations team, finance and leadership to forecast capacity, optimize resource utilization, and secure executive approvals for strategic initiatives.
* Manage risks, schedules, and partner expectations to ensure timely and effective delivery of storage capacity.
* Champion process improvements, automation with storage SREs, and best-practice alignment across capacity teams, including consistent methodologies and tool development.
* Use data to predict future storage resource needs, ensuring adequate capacity for upcoming demands.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in technical program management, business operations, strategy, or related roles within high-performing tech companies.
- Experience in using data to predict future cloud capacity resource needs, ensuring adequate capacity to optimally enable demand.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices and organizational skills to lead complex initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in a Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management or related experience
