The Global Supply Manager is positioned at the interface between Apple’s product teams and the industries that supply core component technologies. We are responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies as well as recommending product innovations based on improving technology. You'll need a keen interest in market dynamics, negotiation and pricing, manufacturing processes, and risk mitigation This position will be based out of Apple’s EMEIA Headquarters in Cork, Ireland.
Description
Support strategic planning, deal structuring, and negotiations. This role requires collaboration with internal teams, including procurement, engineering, finance, and legal, as well as engagement with third-party vendors and suppliers.
Strong quantitative and analytical skills, critical thinking, and ability to lead multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Develop a multifaceted understanding of the commodity landscape to forecast industry trends and gauge emerging competitive forces.
Identify changes in buyer and supplier power within core materials markets and use industry dynamics to Apple’s advantage.
Effectively work with suppliers to negotiate optimal terms for sourcing.
Understand the trade-offs between cost, volume, and quality in order to strike agreements that meet Apple’s performance criteria and secure long-term supply continuity.
Collaborate across the Apple organization, (Engineering, R&D, Global Supply Management teams) to ensure business goals are met.
Ability to rapidly synthesize and communicate findings to senior leaders and to actively identify potential supply issues that can affect product strategy.
Optimize global supply chain performance through cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking.
Develop an in-depth understanding of improved manufacturing processes and costs, reverse logistics, and market intelligence, and apply this knowledge to influence Apple’s future product roadmap and sourcing decisions.
Assess and mitigate risks to the business.
Handle supply chain disruptions in real time with the support of an international team.
Provide overall program management support and contribute to ongoing development of processes, templates, escalation procedures, and reporting.
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong negotiation skills
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, with a capacity to navigate ambiguity
- Expertise in handling forecasts and supply, ensuring supply chain flexibility to mitigate risks
- Resilience in handling unexpected challenges and setbacks
- In-depth knowledge of supplier management and operational processes
- Experience in developing and managing suppliers to uphold industry-leading standards in quality, delivery, and cost efficiency
- Willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis (20%–30%)
