Apple's Creative Applications Team within the Vision Products Group is seeking a skilled Software Quality Engineer to help us automate and test a suite of graphically intense and highly interactive applications. In this role, you will be responsible for shipping world-class user experiences and act as the voice of our end-users. You will help with defining test plans, execution of manual testing, identifying opportunities for automation of manual test cases and developing and maintaining automated test suites for exercising various application features and continuously look for ways to improve and enhance system reliability, and performance. This role requires experience with both manual and automated test development and execution. Responsibilities include defining and implementing manual test plans, working with a team of engineers and existing automation infrastructure to adapt and expand automation test coverage, monitoring CI performance & test results analysis, maintaining reporting for test cases and results. You will be responsible for driving all the quality work you're doing and also be a strong advocate for quality in the overall Software development process. This position requires a self-motivated and dynamic individual with strong technical and communication skills who can contribute in a team environment. You should be able to communicate at a high level and dive into technical details with key partners or leaders. Your leadership skills will drive communication across multiple organizations, negotiate various asks and cultivate growth within the team.
  • 6+ years of software quality testing experience in combined manual and automation roles
  • Proficiency in Python, with practical experience in coding for testing purposes
  • Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and software development lifecycle
  • Ability to define/design/develop/maintain test automation tools and frameworks
  • BS in CS/CE/EE or equivalent experience
  • MS in CS/CE/EE or equivalent experience
  • Experience with real-time and non real-time 3D graphics and rendering experience building
  • Experience with automated image comparison methods and practices
  • Good understanding of image and video quality metrics and evaluation methodology
  • Experience with Apple software ecosystem, including building automation using Swift, XCUI
  • Familiarity with game development and game engines, i.e. Unity or Unreal
  • Exposure to augmented reality (AR) or virtual reality (VR) application
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $165,500 and $293,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
