Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Design, develop, and characterize prototype hardware for proof-of-concept and demo systems related to new and future product initiatives in the consumer electronics field. Investigate how various technologies interact with the human body, including but not limited to electromagnetic, optical, acoustical, and mechanical interactions. Architect and design multi-layer, high-density printed circuit boards, owning electrical, firmware, application development, and maintenance. Build and test fully functional prototype systems by integrating electrical, mechanical, and software components with minimal supervision. Support internal customers of circuit boards, firmware, software, and prototype systems. Design and 3D-print mechanical fixtures for circuit boards and prototype hardware. Lead multiple projects and manage cross-functional dependencies with partner teams. Produce and deliver demonstrations and documentation at a quality level suitable for senior executives. PCB design and development – create schematics and PCB layouts, own bring-up and debug. Implement firmware to communicate between multiple embedded devices using wired and wireless protocols. Domestic travel up to 10% required. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 - $214,500/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering (Electrical or Biomedical), Computer Science, or related field.
  • Experience and/or education must include:
  • Designing and building multi-layer, high-density printed circuit boards.
  • Creating user interface programs.
  • Utilizing C/C++ to develop firmware for real-time embedded applications.
  • Utilizing Oscilloscope to test, maintain and debug electrical prototype assemblies.
  • Utilizing soldering and rework tools.
  • Creating prototype circuits.
  • Modifying and extending printed circuit board hardware.
  • Managing procurement of components, circuit boards, and modules as required to build fully functional prototype systems.
  • Utilizing 3D CAD software and 3D printing tools to design and build mechanical fixtures for prototype hardware.
